Often, a young family needs an effective plan to insure protection of young children from unforeseen issues until they reach adulthood and beyond. As the family matures, a focus often evolves to protecting the accumulating family wealth from unnecessary taxes and Probate costs. A big issue often involves protecting children’s inheritance from the child’s possible Divorce or creditor claims. Often, a family business is part of an effective plan, and protecting the equity built up over years of hard work is of paramount important. Finally, a concern for many is the effect of health issues and nursing care costs and the devastating impact they can have on years of asset accumulation. John works with individual and families to address these issues, with insight and judgement from over twenty-five years of experience. Important legal documents include Wills, Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney and Health Care Proxies. The goal is to effectuate a comprehensive plan that simplifies clients’ lives and protects their assets. John is a frequent public speaker about all aspects of Estate Planning, including retirement asset protection.
