Attorney Bill Dalton is a founding and managing partner of the firm, specializing in Residential Real Estate. Mr. Dalton completed his undergraduate work at the University of New Hampshire and received his Juris Doctor degree from the Massachusetts School of Law. He worked as a staff attorney for the National Association of Government Employees and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, negotiating contracts and handling labor/employment disputes. He has also practiced at two other firms specializing in Real Estate and Corporate Law. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of New Hampshire.
Attorney Barry Finegold is a founding and managing partner of the firm, specializing in Residential Real Estate and Commercial Real Estate. Mr. Finegold has a long career in public service; he currently represents the 2nd Essex and Middlesex district in the Massachusetts State Senate and served as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1997-2010. Before that, he was a Selectman in the Town of Andover. Before practicing law, he worked in commercial and residential lending for several banking institutions in the Greater Boston area. Mr. Finegold is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, the Massachusetts School of Law, and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mr. Finegold resides in Andover with his wife, Amy, their three children, Ava, Ella, and Max, and the family’s bulldog, Otis. In his free time, Mr. Finegold enjoys coaching his children’s flag football, hockey, and soccer teams, attending hard rock concerts, and his daily 5am work out.
Attorney Stephen Bazarian is a partner specializing in Litigation. His practice focuses primarily on tort defense, including premises liability, product liability, and foodborne illness litigation. He also has substantial experience representing clients in complex business and commercial litigation and large-scale debt collection and other creditors’ rights actions. Mr. Bazarian’s practice also includes litigating disputes for commercial landlords and property managers. His clients include a nationwide supermarket chain, for whom he is lead defense counsel for all of the company’s general liability cases in New England. Mr. Bazarian’s thirty years of experience enable him to advise a wide range of clients with regard to potential disputes and to represent those clients through litigation, at trial, and in appeal. Mr. Bazarian is a graduate of Boston College Law School and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the State of Connecticut, and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. Mr. Bazarian is also Dalton & Finegold LLP’s General Counsel.
Attorney Brendan Boyle is a Partner at the firm concentrating in Real Estate and Business law with a focus on the financing, acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial real estate. Mr. Boyle joined Dalton & Finegold in 2012. Mr. Boyle represents institutional and private lenders in the structuring and documentation of commercial real estate loans and the negotiation of documents evidencing such loans. He also represents individual and institutional developers and investors in connection with the acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial real estate. In addition to his commercial real estate practice, Mr. Boyle represents individuals and existing companies in connection with organizational formation and general corporate matters. Mr. Boyle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College, and received his law degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School. Kenneth MacKenzie is a partner specializing in Commercial Real Estate, with a focus on Hospitality and Recreation. He represents lenders, developers, tenants, management companies, and pension and opportunity funds in all aspects of real estate transactional matters. Before joining Dalton & Finegold, he spent 25 years as a member of two of Boston’s largest law firms, most recently as a partner and co-leader of the Goulston & Storrs Hospitality and Recreation Group. Kenneth is a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, part of the Hospitality Industry Advisory Board for New England Real Estate Journal and has been a guest lecturer at the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration. He recently served as a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer for Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, the community service agency for the Merrimack Valley. He was named a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer” and was awarded the “AV” rating by Martindale. Kenneth is an alumnus of Phillips Andover Academy and Dartmouth College. He received his law degree, magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law, where he was a Note and Case Editor for the Boston University Law Review and a recipient of the William L. and Lillian Berger Prize for academic excellence. Attorney P. Michael Margolis is a Partner at the firm concentrating in Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Finance and Business Law. His practice focuses on commercial real estate leasing, sales/leaseback transactions, development, sales, acquisitions and financing, commercial lending and general business transactions. His clients include one of the nation’s top furniture retailers for which he has served over the past 22 years as its counsel on numerous business manners and lead real estate counsel for its entire real estate portfolio consisting of its coast to coast “Big Box” retail stores, regional distribution centers and corporate headquarters. Mr. Margolis holds a law degree from The George Washington University School of Law and an undergraduate degree in accounting from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management. Attorney Shannon Slaughter is a partner at the firm specializing in litigation at the trial court and appellate court level. Her practice involves resolving complex title litigation including determination of title and clearing title defects for recorded and registered land, complex land use litigation involving breach of contract claims, easement disputes, adverse possession claims, determination of ownership of tidelands, zoning appeals, enforcement of restrictive covenants, construction defects, fraudulent title and conveyances, condominium disputes and probate disputes involving contested petitions, incapacity, undue influence claims, and fraud claims. Attorney Thomas W. Tavenner, Jr. is a partner specializing in Commercial Real Estate Law, representing developers and lenders in all facets of commercial transactions, including debt and acquisition transactions, ownership structuring, leasing and workouts. Prior to Joining Dalton & Finegold, Mr. Tavenner was the General Counsel and Senior Vice President at Realty Financial Partners in Wellesley, Massachusetts for 14 years. In this role he represented multiple private closed end real estate funds and was responsible for managing the legal work in the acquisition and disposition of multiple commercial real estate investments, including property and legal due diligence, and the drafting of complex operating and partnership agreements, purchase agreements, loan documents and commercial leases. Mr. Tavenner received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in economics from the University of Maine at Orono and his J.D. with honors from Suffolk University Law School in 1993. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Maine.
Christopher R. Vaccaro concentrates his practice in commercial real estate and banking, representing developers and financial institutions in sophisticated commercial transactions. His practice includes real estate development, condominiums, leasing, zoning, permitting, litigation, and loan restructuring. Chris was admitted to the Texas bar in 1984, the Massachusetts bar in 1988, and the United States District Court for Massachusetts in 2001. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts. Chris is the author of the monthly “Law of the Land” column in Banker & Tradesman, and has published articles in other periodicals, including Boston Business Journal, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and the New England Real Estate Journal. Chris is a member of the Board of Directors of Bridgewell, a leading human services nonprofit in northeastern Massachusetts. He is a former Chairman of the Reading Board of Appeals and has also served as an assistant coach with Reading Youth Hockey and Reading United Soccer.
Chloé Coravos is an of counsel specializing in Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Ms. Coravos’ practice includes representing businesses, partnerships, development entities, public authorities and individuals in a wide range of disputes, including contracts, boundary line disputes, equitable actions involving title to real property, foreclosure litigation, condemnation proceedings, landlord-tenant disputes, business torts, and fiduciary duty claims. Additionally, she has advised clients on internal investigations and third-party subpoenas. She has also represented clients in arbitration, mediation, and before administrative agencies. In addition to her work with Dalton & Finegold, Ms. Coravos regularly participates in the Volunteer Lawyer for the Day Program where she represents low-income tenants and landlords in connection with Summary Process eviction proceedings. Attorney Matthew Ray is a Senior Counsel with the firm concentrating in C&I and CRE lending and commercial real estate transactions. Matt is resident in Dalton & Finegold’s Boston office and practiced for 12 years at various regional and national law firms before joining the firm and has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star in Banking and Real Estate as well as a New England Outstanding Young Lawyer. Matt’s practice is concentrated on the representation of both financial institutions and commercial borrowers in the structuring, negotiation and documentation of middle-market C&I and commercial real estate credit facilities. In addition to his lending practice, Matt has a general commercial real estate practice representing sponsors and developers in connection with acquisitions, dispositions and development of commercial properties as well as the representation of both landlords and tenants in the negotiation and drafting of lease agreements pertaining to all types of commercial properties including office, flex, retail, restaurant and warehouse space. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Assumption College and received both his M.B.A. degree and J.D. from Suffolk University where he was an editor of a law review journal and member of the moot court honor board. Matt is a member of the Real Estate Finance Association and the New England Chapter of the Commercial Finance Association. Eric T. Shediac is Of Counsel at the firm, specializing in commercial real estate law, general corporate law and creditors’ rights law. Eric represents institutional lenders of all sizes ranging from community banks to large regional and national banks documenting a wide range of credit facilities including, asset-based loans, letters of credit, equipment loans, commercial and industrial based loans, SBA 7(a) loans, real estate acquisition loans including SBA 504 loans and traditional permanent mortgage financing, as well as construction loans. He also advises his lending clients through the loan restructuring and workout process. Eric’s real estate practice includes representing developers and investors in the acquisition, development, lease and sale of commercial and residential real estate. On corporate matters, Eric advises his clients with their business law needs including the preparation of various formation documents, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, and both asset and stock purchase and sale agreements. Mr. Shediac is a graduate of The University of Oklahoma and the University of Massachusetts School of Law (formerly Southern New England School of Law).
